A signal is transmitted either digitally via telephone lines or via a cellular signal to our computer network for decoding into the English language. All of this occurs in less than 60 seconds. The operator receiving the signal now has on his/her monitor the name and address of where the alarm originated as well as the type of alarm -- fire, burglar, temperature, etc. Special instructions also appear on the screen accompanied by emergency contact numbers and the persons who are to be notified of the alarm activation. Within seconds, the emergency notification number is automatically dialed. An operator has all the necessary information at his/her fingertips to relay to the dispatcher so help will be on its way to you in an instant.

When your First Alert Professional Security System detects an event, it automatically transmits a message to your central monitoring facility where highly skilled operators respond. In most cases, they will attempt to verify the condition by calling your home before contacting the appropriate authority. Why would they verify the alarm first? This prevents having the police, fire or emergency service come to your home unnecessarily. If it is a real emergency, the operator can summon the appropriate emergency personnel to your home to assist you. So whether you are home or away, your home can be protected 24 hours a day, every day.

24 Hour Monitoring / Commercial - We have the capability to help business owners keep a close eye on their company with the help of several programmable functions available through your Security / Fire System.

One of the most valuable functions is supervised opening and closing. You establish time frames in the morning and evening during which your employees (or other authorized alarm users) are permitted to enter/exit the facility and arm/disarm the security system. If the alarm system is armed/disarmed outside of the designated time windows, a special signal is sent to the central station. You give specific instructions you wish for us to use following the receipt of one of these signals.

Our automated network compiles detailed information regarding the usage of your alarm. This information can be mailed or faxed to you weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. If alarm users are programmed in the security system, the report will include the name of the individual opening/closing your facility, along with the date and time this occurs daily.

Additionally, we are equipped to handle automated panel tests. Your security system can be programmed to send a special communications test daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or even hourly. This insures your alarm is communicating with the central station properly. If the test signal is not received, you will be notified of the failed test status so you can schedule service promptly.
